Patreon

All about how to support PowerPivot through Patreon: what Patreon is, why we use it, and how to sign up.

What is Patreon, anyway?
Patreon is website that offers a new way to support creative projects of various kinds through an automatic monthly payment. Creators post their projects, and you can become a patron of those projects by signing up for a level of support.

Why do you use Patreon?
It’s a good way to give people the chance to support PowerPivot. I started this podcast because these conversations are so important in the world, and to build community and engagement around that project. Patreon offers tools for conversation and community and support in one central place. I support other creators on Patreon, so I decided to use it to pursue this project. I’ve used it before for other things but this is the first time I’ve really gone all-in.

How do I support you on Patreon?
You click through to the podcast project site, look on the right side for “become a patron” and sign up. You give them your credit card information and they bill you automatically every month.

Do I get anything special for becoming a patron of PowerPivot?
Patreon is set up so that the projects you support can ultimately serve everyone, but yes. In addition to the satisfaction of helping important, interesting, engaging conversations get into the world, you’ll get extra commentary from me, and I’m working on how to release episodes early to Patreon subscribers. You also get access to the Patron-only email feed.
